Neal Sulmeyer attended California State University at Northridge where he received his B.S. and M.S. in Physics.
While in graduate school, he led a team of graduate students upgrading the software that controlled the 24” solar telescope at the NASA San Fernando Solar Observatory. Included in this upgrade was the addition of Fast Fourier Transformation (FFT) functions giving scientist a new set of tools for analysis of data collected by the telescope.
After graduation in 1980, Mr. Sulmeyer was employed by Vidicom and as chief
scientist, he helped develop audio and video teleconferencing systems. At the
same time, he freelanced as a programmer developing scientific and mathematic tools
for such prestigious clients as Rockwell, Control Data Corporation, and Rockedyne.
In 1982 he started Computer Consultants Company providing IT consulting and
custom database applications for the local business community. In 1993 he moved to Cherokee County, Georgia
again providing contract software development. In 2005 he founded Kinetic Computing
in order to expand into offering complete IT services for local businesses.
Neal is a classical musician and principle clarinetist with the Reinhardt College
Orchestra. He enjoys camping, hiking, and snow skiing. He is also an avid Amateur (Ham) Radio enthusiast and enjoys designing antennas and has received several awards for his innovated designs. He especially enjoys participating in “on the air” competitions (contests) and has received numerous first place standing for these weekend events.
